What's included in a timber frame kit?

Every kit includes: the timber frame, braces, pegs, splines, and all necessary hardware to raise the structure. Engineer-stamped plans are included. Tie-downs such as Timber Lynx or Simpson straps are not included — those depend on your foundation type. Raising is not included in the kit price.

Do you offer enclosure panels?

Not yet — we'd like to. For now we can put you in touch with the right people and help you along the way.

Are your frames modular?

Yes. All our frames are designed to be modular. The base price is for a 2-bay frame, and the design can be expanded width-wise in increments depending on the frame — typically 13 to 16 foot bay increments.

Shipping & Delivery

Do you ship nationwide?

Yes — we ship cut-and-labeled timber frame kits to all 48 contiguous states. Each piece is numbered and comes with detailed assembly drawings.

How do I receive the shipment?

A crane or forklift is required to receive the shipment. We coordinate delivery timing so you or your contractor are ready to unload.

What's the lead time?

As we are starting up we have not nailed down lead times. At this point times will vary frame by frame. Contact us for current estimates.

Raising & Assembly

Will you raise the structure?

We'd love to. Currently we're able to travel within the New England area. Contact us for pricing and scheduling.

Will I need a crane?

Cranes are almost always worth it. While it is possible to assemble our structures with more traditional methods, we strongly recommend the use of a crane for both delivery and assembly.

Can I build a timber frame myself?

Yes — our cut-and-shipped kits are designed for owner-builder or contractor raising. The joinery is pre-cut and each piece is numbered with assembly drawings provided. A crane is strongly recommended.

Engineering & Materials

What timber species do you use?

We offer Douglas Fir or Pine, depending on the frame and your preference. The 24×27 Arch Truss is available in Douglas Fir. All frames are kiln-dried and treated with a specialty timber oil.

Do engineering stamps work in my state?

Our Maine-licensed engineer provides stamped plans for Maine projects. For projects outside Maine, we coordinate with an engineer licensed in your state to review and stamp the plans for local requirements; our Maine engineering package is a strong starting point for high roof-load regions.
